does social media impact our children?

In today's society, our children are inundated with messages and images that impact their mental well-being. These images create a perception that alters their reality. They begin to believe that the glitz and glamour, bad boy/girl images and recklessness is the true ideation of self.
As a parent, we are forced to debunk these grandiose  ideations of what life truly is. Our children spend more time engaged in online videos and on gaming systems than in a book. Learning the fundamental substances is not appealing to them because it is "unpopular". To begin taking our children back, by force, we must look at ourselves. Are we challenging our children to become their best selves? Have we replaced family time with material possessions? Do we have the same expectations of ourselves as we have for our children?
Today, I challenge each family member to turn off the t.v., gaming systems and social media sites and engage in one on one communication with these young unadulterated minds of the future.
Mentorship is a key aspect that young people yearn for. Our first interaction to this is with our parents. Do not forsake time for material possessions; there are young minds that need you. We have a society that is in desperate need of innovation, cultivation and moral upbringing. Become the mentor, inspiration and hope that these young minds need!

Tell me why you'd leave someone? Could you stay if he/she cheated? If you didn't like the way they chewed? What if they made loud noises when they went to the bathroom?
